Millboard Driftwood, Bondi Beach

This 2nd floor apartment on Bondi Beach had a rear courtyard which was tiled, but the owners found they weren’t really using it. It had no seating area or outdoor kitchen bar, so we designed and built this stunning area.

We used a large crane to lift in the spa into place then built the tiered seating stairs area with a cut out for the banana palm on the upper level.

We custom-made this outdoor kitchen area with barbecue and bar fridge sublet ice chest and storage shelves behind the doors, then tipped it all off with this stunning granite worktop.

To maximise the seating area, we built a floating bench seat off the rear wall with led under lighting and a daybed with a large pull-out waterproof drawer underneath for storage.

The decking board they chose was Millboard Driftwood, which is 200 mm wide, and moulded from real pieces of oak, to give this stunning beachside feel and look to the courtyard.

The fire pit has got a heatproof base to prevent any heat from coming out the bottom and damaging the deck boards and it’s also on wheels which means it can be easily wheeled out of the way when it is not required.

The Millboard Embered Weathered Oak board feature wall with built-in planter boxes and hanging plants down lights beautifully compliments the area and perfectly frames the outdoor al fresco kitchen area.
